Our stay at Sliabh gCua was one of the nicest experiences we've had in many years of travelling in Europe. Breeda & Jim Cullinan have a comfortable, immaculately-kept home in a beautiful country setting. Touraneena is so small that it isn't on many maps, but it's about midway between Clonmel and Dungarvan. There are sights to see - the gardens at Lismore, Cahir Castle, Cashel & Kilkenny; but it was idyllic just to walk the country roads around Touraneena, picking blackberries as we went.
The food was exceptionally good, and there were plenty of breakfast options apart from the traditional eggs and meat (smoked salmon, cheeses, yogurt, fruit, hot and cold cereals...). When guests returned to the farmhouse at the end of the day, Breeda & Jim greeted them with cake and coffee. They were truly gracious, no matter the hour or the situation. All the guests we talked to felt, as we did, that staying with them was a wonderful bit of luck.
