Dating back to the early 1900's, Sliabh gCua Farmhouse Bed And Breakfast is an impressive home enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. It is situated between the rugged Comeragh and picturesque Knockmealdown Mountains with the farm bordered by the river Finisk. Sliabh gCua offers a feeling of peace and tranquillity, ideal for those who wish to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy lifestyle. The nearest village to the farmhouse, Touraneena, is about midway between Clonmel and Dungarvan. Our accommodation is the ideal base for anyone wanting to discover the many delights and gentle pace of life in West Waterford. If you are going out for the evening, traditional Irish music sessions take place in some of the nearby public houses. We are centrally located for visitors exploring the towns of Dungarvan, Clonmel, Lismore, Cappoquin, Cahir, Cashel & Kilkenny.
The farmhouse has retained all of its original character. Guest's accommodation is tastefully decorated and furnished throughout with antique period furniture, some rooms having original polished timber floors. The bedrooms have idyllic picturesque windows with stunning views of the spacious landscaped garden and the magnificent surrounding countryside. Each of our four guest bedrooms have a private en-suite and all have tea/coffee making facilities.
The property also features a comfortable sitting room with an open log fire for guests use. You can sit and relax by the open log fire and enjoy tea and home made scones. The dining room, which looks out onto the garden, has a wonderful character which creates a warm atmosphere where good wholesome food is served using fresh farm produce.
In the evening enjoy home made tea and scones while you view the sun setting over the Knockmealdown mountains from the 'Look Out' in our garden.
Breeda Cullinan has taken a course in genealogy organised by Waterford County Archive and is happy to advise any guests staying in our accommodation information on sources for family history research which are available locally, and through Waterford County Archive Service.
